Our Evolution

In February 2021, Co-Founders Maya and Mica Caine launched Mive, a made-to-measure slow fashion marketplace offering size-inclusive, consciously made garments. The platform featured a virtual measuring system, enabling customers to get accurately measured with just two photos, ensuring every garment sold was perfectly tailored to individual measurements. Within a year and a half, we had 22 designers on our marketplace and sold over 300 garments with a 100% perfect fit rate.

Despite Mive's success in merging slow fashion with size inclusivity, Maya and Mica increasingly found their passion shifting from promoting consumption to seeking systemic change. This led to a pivotal decision in early 2022 to transition Mive into 'Mive Labs', a circular design consultancy focused on advancing the circular fashion economy in  Ohio.

Today, Mive Labs is led by Principal, Maya Caine, serving her beloved home state of Ohio. Ohio has such a strong history in clothing and shoe production, and it is her mission to acknowledge this rich history and support the state's transition to a fashion system that affirms the life and longevity of people and our planet. Mive Labs aims to end the oppressive linear model by activating and supporting systems that create ongoing cycles of usefulness.
